Leading Diageo India’s Marketing Strategy

As the Chief Marketing Officer at Diageo India since August 2023, Jaitly is in charge of brand strategy, consumer engagement, and marketing execution for the company’s extensive portfolio of spirits brands. Before stepping into this role, she served as the Executive Vice President of Marketing from October 2021 to August 2023. Her leadership propels Diageo’s growth in a competitive and evolving market landscape.

A Proven Track Record in Brand Leadership

Before joining Diageo, Jaitly was the Head of Marketing at HMD Global, where she spearheaded product portfolio planning and developed go-to-market strategies for Nokia devices and accessories in India. Her strategic approach integrated digital transformation, omnichannel engagement, and direct-to-consumer (D2C) initiatives, ensuring a seamless consumer experience.

Her tenure at Royal DSM further highlighted her ability to merge business impact with social responsibility. As Director of Strategy and Nutrition Challenges, she launched MANDI, a food and beverage start-up focused on tackling malnutrition, and introduced the consumer brand NUShakti. Additionally, she led the ‘Streedhan’ campaign, raising awareness about women’s nutritional needs.

Shaping Iconic Brands at PepsiCo

Jaitly’s nearly 11-year stint at PepsiCo India saw her manage some of the most renowned beverage brands, including Pepsi, Mountain Dew, 7UP, and Gatorade. As Senior Director of Marketing for Beverages, she led impactful consumer campaigns such as ‘Crash the Pepsi IPL.’ She was crucial in product innovations like Nimbooz Masala Soda and the new LaysLay’s and Kurkure formats. Her leadership during Pepsi IPL (2014–2015) drove one of PepsiCo’s most significant consumer engagement initiatives in India and the Middle East.

Early Career and Foundational Experience

Jaitly began her professional journey as a management trainee at Unilever, navigating challenging sales territories in Western Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. She quickly transitioned into brand activation and strategy roles in the hair care segment, building a strong foundation in FMCG marketing.
